Why We Still Use Selvedge Denim
Slower to weave, harder to source, worth the trouble.
Selvedge denim is woven on old shuttle looms at roughly a fifth the speed of modern projectile looms. That slowness gives the fabric its density and its self-finished edge.
For our workshirt program we source from a small mill in Okayama that's been running the same looms since the 1970s.
